Meijer Mondays at the Zoo

Receive discounted admission to the Zoo with a Meijer receipt

Get ready to save every Monday May 5 through Sept. 29, 2008, when you bring a Meijer receipt to the Louisville Zoo. During Meijer Mondays, when you purchase one adult Zoo admission you get one child’s admission for free just by showing a Meijer receipt! One receipt can be used by up to four adults for four free child admissions.

Besides Meijer Mondays, Meijer is also presenting a yearlong Louisville Zoo Membership Campaign, which provides members additional benefits including:

  • Special “Members Only” access to the Zoo’s Calistoga Splash Park at Glacier Run on Mondays and Wednesdays from 9 to 11 a.m. beginning in June

  • Special opportunities like “Meet the Keeper”

  • Member appreciation nights

The Meijer’s partnership also allows the Zoo to host local community outreach events. So if you see a furry or scaly creature in a Meijer store this summer, don’t be alarmed—it is just the Zoo’s animal ambassadors. Get close, take a peek and learn something new.

“Meijer has always taken great pride in our community partnerships—it is ingrained in our company values,” said Meijer Store Director Denny Simonavice. “We are excited about partnering with the Louisville Zoo and furthering its mission of bettering the bond between people and our planet.”

Louisville Zoo Director John Walczak said generous support from organizations and corporations like Meijer showcases how organizations can successfully partner together.

“We are delighted with Meijer’s commitment,” Walczak said, “and we realize that positive partnerships like this make Louisville the great community that it is and the Louisville Zoo the great Zoo that it is.”
