Grand Opening of the Zoo’s renovated
Tiger Tundra exhibit
WHAT: Grand opening of the
Louisville Zoo’s newly renovated Amur tiger exhibit, The Alice
S. Etscorn Tiger Tundra. This is an integral part of the Glacier
Run project and represents an innovative new trend of turning
the Zoo experience “inside out.” The Tiger Tundra renovation is
designed to allow special access to visitors who can view these
amazing Amur tigers up-close and watch them being trained
without a special behind-the-scenes tour.
WH0: Mayor Jerry Abramson,
Louisville Zoo Director John Walczak, Louisville Zoo Foundation
Chair Mark Wheeler and Sinda (an Amur tiger)
WHEN: Monday, June 2, 10:30 a.m.
WHERE: Louisville Zoo – Call
prior to coverage and sign in at the receptionist’s desk in the
administration building. You will be escorted to the exhibit
area.
NOTE: Great visuals. Instead of
a ribbon cutting, we will be rolling up the training door for
the first time for the public where you will be able to see a
tiger training demonstration!
